Ainsley doesn't know what happened, but she saw the lights from her window and went downstairs to see what was happening. That's when she saw the policemen were here, everywhere, all over the house in every room. Mommy found her, but she wasn't really telling her anything because she was too busy crying. Ainsley saw why: Daddy was being put in a police car. But what could Daddy do that made him go there? Her Daddy is the best, he never hurt anybody or did anything wrong ever. Daddy told Malcolm something before he had to leave, but Ainsley doesn't know what he said. But Malcolm looked real sad, and that makes her sad.
That was earlier. Now, she's sitting on the couch, legs swinging over the side of it as she looks between the grown ups. Malcolm's slumped in a chair still looking sad. Ainsley pouts. She doesn't want bubba to be sad. She will fix it, once Mommy and the policeman stop whispering. She can't tell what they're saying.
But she's bored and she doesn't know what's happening.
So she reaches up and tugs on the sleeve of the policeman to get his attention.
"Ainsley." Jessica chides her daughter, distracted.
Ainsley doesn't pay attention to Mommy. She looks at the man towering waaaay above where she sits. "How come you put my daddy in your car?"
